Home Budget

The hardest thing to setting up a budget is ticking to it. Anyone can make a budget, run some numbers and make some wild goals; but you want to make it realistic. The purpose of making a budget is to keep your debt in control and give you a forecast that is reasonable. There are plenty of free software on the internet that can help you build your budget, a quick search engine check can get you in the right direction. But the software is not going to give you the will power so keep that in mind when making your budget.

The first step is to get your bills together

You are not only looking for your most recent bills but also the ones that come periodically throughout the year. This is where "budgetiers" make most of their mistakes, these people are only thinking this months bills and not thinking through the year. The biggest things that people forget about is vehicle maintenance and gifts.

Second step is to try to find some money for savings

All budgets can find money to save somewhere, this is usually the best time to plan for savings because you see all of your frivolous spending habitats. The more money you can save and the more consistent it is, the easier and more second nature it will be to save your money.

The last step here is to FOLLOW YOUR PLAN

This is where most everyone fails. This is where the debt can get way out of control. People think they can just break the budget here and there, but nothing can be further than the truth. A simple slip can lead to a huge tumble. Will power, will power, will power. If you can stick to absolute budget for at least 6 months, it will start to get easier.
